Netflix and Marvel Teaming Up

Apparently, Marvel is taking a different rout for some of its characters. Rather than movies or network television, they are teaming up with Netflix to bring some of the "street-level" characters to the small screen. Netflix will be producing Daredevil, Power Man (Luke Cage), Iron Fist and Jessica Jones series, leading up to a joint Defenders mini-series.

This is great news. Netflix has produced some impressive original work (Orange is the New Black is my favorite). Not having to worry about the censorship network TV has to deal with also means we might get gritty, more adult stories. With how disappointing Agents of SHEILD has been, let's hope a focus on superheroics without the constraints of network TV will be more successful.
